About the Report:
The study - produced by the Singapore Exchange (SGX) and Centre for Centre for Governance, Institutions and
Organisations (CGIO) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School - highlighted the progress of sustainability
reporting practices among Singapore-listed companies and discussed opportunities for achieving higher reporting quality.
Examples of key findings include:
- Sustainability reporting is growing more sophisticated year on year, with companies improving on their sustainability disclosures since SGX’s listing requirements on sustainability reporting
- Certain industries taking the lead: The real estate, health care and communication services sectors produced the best-quality reports
- Climate action: 6.5% of Singapore companies or 32 companies, acknowledged climate change as a material factor
- Tone from the top: Only 8% of companies linked sustainability performance with executive remuneration
