Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) and RXT Greensnow Synergy Sdn Bhd have signed a Joint Collaborative Agreement (JCA) to advance knowledge and expertise in the field of rare earth elements (REE). UTP vice-chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Mohamed Ibrahim Abdul Mutalib said that the university, through its Institute of Hydrocarbon Recovery (IHR), will undertake collaborative projects to study extraction and processing technologies, including separation and purification, in the mineral-rich state of Perak. Mohamed Ibrahim said UTP is dedicated to ensuring that the collaboration aligns with environmentally friendly practices and meets social responsibilities.
