U.S. DOE Invests USD3.7bn In Carbon Removal Technologies

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced the launch of four programs funded with USD3.7bn to help build a commercially viable carbon dioxide removal industry in the country. The funding comes from President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. The goals of the programs are to ramp up private-sector investment, spur advancements in monitoring and reporting practices for carbon management technologies and provide grants to state and local governments to buy and use products made from captured carbon emissions.
