United Airlines Sustainable Flight Fund Grows to Nearly USD200mn.
The United Airlines Ventures Sustainable Flight Fund has increased its investment capacity to nearly USD200mn and added eight new corporate partners since its launch five months ago. The fund aims to boost the supply of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) by supporting start-ups. United customers can also contribute to the fund when booking flights. The airline plans to continue recruiting more corporations and prioritize investments in new technology and advanced fuel sources to scale the production of SAF. United has already invested in the future production of over five billion gallons of SAF, making it the world's largest SAF investor. The fund supports the development of SAF made from various feedstocks, such as used cooking oil and agricultural waste, with the goal of achieving sustainable flight in the future.
