The UK and France have jointly launched the UK-French Global Biodiversity Credits Roadmap, an initiative aimed at expanding the market for biodiversity credits. Similar to carbon credits, biodiversity credits allow companies to invest in projects that contribute to nature recovery. These credits measure the environmental action, location, and project developer involved. The roadmap was unveiled at the Summit for a New Financial Pact in Paris, which focuses on creating a financial system that can address global challenges like climate change, nature loss, and poverty, with a special emphasis on supporting developing countries.
