TNB Partners With Three Major Thailand Energy Players

Malaysia’s largest electricity utility firm Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) is capitalising on regional demand and potential for greener power in Asean by collaborating with three major Thailand energy players to accelerate its responsible energy transition. TNB said that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand to set up a joint working committee to study the feasibility of enhancement of the interconnection capacity between Malaysia and Thailand. TNB’s two subsidiaries, TNB Renewables Sdn Bhd (TRe) and TNB Power Generation Sdn Bhd (Genco) have signed MoUs respectively with Planet Utility Co Ltd (PU) and B.Grimm Power Public Co Ltd (B.Grimm). The TRe and PU MoU is for exploring potential renewable energy (RE) and power generation technology opportunities in Thailand while the Genco and B.Grimm MoU is for exploring any opportunities for collaborations, participation, and development of RE power projects in Southeast Asia.
