Thailand Powering Through the Sustainability Ceiling
Thailand is strengthening its position as a clean energy leader in Southeast Asia with remarkable green initiatives. Kansai Electric Power is constructing the world's largest standalone rooftop solar panel installation, along with a gas co-generation system and biomass-generated power, to enable a factory to function entirely on renewable energy. The Thai government's comprehensive sustainability strategy, called the Bio-Circular Green economy, offers incentives like subsidies and tax breaks to attract investors for renewable energy projects. Thailand has also emerged as a hub for electric vehicle (EV) production and is a growing market for EVs due to investments from companies like BYD, Great Wall Motor, SAIC, Mercedes Benz, and Foxconn.
