Targeted Electricity Subsidies For Domestic, SME Users, Says Government

The Malaysian government is allocating RM10.76 billion to subsidise electricity tariffs for domestic users and small and medium enterprises in the first half of 2023, said natural resources, environment and climate change minister Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad. This is in conjunction with the electricity tariff adjustment for Peninsular Malaysia from 1 January to 30 June next year. The targeted scheme will save RM4.16 billion, with just over RM8 billion allocated to subsidise electricity for low voltage non-domestic users
