Tanzania Carbon Credit Projects Attract USD20bn From Companies.
Tanzania is experiencing a growing interest in the voluntary carbon market, with commitments of over USD20bn in carbon offset credits from more than 20 companies. The adoption of carbon trading legislation in the country has attracted over USD1bn in investment, which will support carbon trading initiatives. The Minister of State in the Vice President's Office highlighted that carbon credit trading will contribute to Tanzania's efforts to achieve its Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), aiming to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 30% to 35% by 2030.
