Tabung Haji appoints Azman Mokhtar as the new chairman

Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) has named former Khazanah Nasional Bhd MD, Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar, as its new chairman effective yesterday. He is succeeding Tan Sri Md Nor Yusof who stepped down as chairman recently after holding the position since July 10, 2018. During Mohd Nor’s leadership, TH strengthened its financial position and total deposits grew to RM81.41 billion as at June 30, 2021, the highest level since TH was established 58 years ago. “We are grateful to have such a respected figure who brings a wealth of experience. Tan Sri Azman is well known for having led the revamp of Khazanah and the GLC Transformation Programme as Khazanah MD from 2004 to 2018. “We are confident his vast experience, exceptional leadership and proven track record will contribute towards steering TH to success amid the challenges posed by the pandemic,” TH Group MD and CEO and Datuk Seri Amrin Awaluddin said in a statement 20 December.
