Solarpack, a Spanish multinational company specialising in solar photovoltaic power plants, has raised RM285 million via the issuance of an ASEAN Green SRI Sukuk Wakalah. The sukuk was issued in accordance with the ASEAN Green Bond Standards, the Securities Commission Malaysia’s Sustainable and Responsible Investment Sukuk framework and the International Capital Market Association’s Green Bond Principles. The funds raised will be used to refinance the existing bridge loan of Solarpack Suria Sungai Petani Sdn Bhd, which is being utilised for the construction of a 116MWp solar plant operated by Solarpack in Malaysia.
