SK Nexilis Debuts Green Loan to Fund RM2.3 Billion Sabah Plant

South Korea’s SK Nexilis Company Limited, the world’s largest copper foil maker, started the first green syndicated term loan facility to fund their first overseas factory in Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park (KKIP) in Sabah. The RM2.3 billion copper foil plant will have an annual production capacity of 50,000 tonnes, doubling SK Nexilis’ current global production. The copper foils produced will be used extensively in electric vehicle (EV) batteries. SK Nexilis Malaysia Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Shin Dong Hwan said the facility will create local job opportunities and provide traction for EV local supply chain investments.
