Singapore and UAE Deepen Collaboration to Combat Climate Change

Singapore and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have reaffirmed their commitment to ambitious climate action ahead of the United Nations climate change summit. In a joint statement on climate cooperation, the nations pledged to tackle carbon emissions and climate change adaptation while supporting vulnerable countries. They will work together on the green economy, low-carbon energy, and food security to advance their climate goals and create green jobs. The UAE will host the COP28 climate summit in Dubai in late November, where these efforts will be further discussed. Both countries also plan to deepen collaboration in the green and digital economies, with deals related to green transport, low-carbon energy, and technology. They will also work on cleaner energy, specifically hydrogen fuel and carbon capture and storage. The nations are actively pursuing their goals to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
