Sime Darby Plantation Unveils Net-Zero Emissions Commitment Roadmap
Sime Darby Plantation Bhd has unveiled a roadmap towards achieving net-zero emissions, which includes its aim to eliminate Scope 1 and 2 absolute overall emissions and balancing all Scope 3 emissions with carbon offsets by 2050. In a statement filed with Bursa Malaysia Bhd, Sime Darby announced it was taking a three-pronged approach to achieve its goals, which include intensifying its renewables programme by opening more than 40 biogas plants by 2030, expanding its reforestation, conservation and biodiversity initiatives and accelerating engagement with suppliers to ensure that sustainable practices are replicated throughout their supply chain.
