Shell & Hanwha Join the Shepherd CCS Project in Korea

Shell Gas & Power and Hanwha have joined the Korea-Malaysia Shepherd CCS Project, a joint initiative between South Korea and Malaysia aimed at addressing CO2 emissions from industrial complexes in Korea. The project involves capturing carbon dioxide emissions and transporting them to Malaysia for permanent storage, covering the entire carbon value chain. The project, which includes members such as SK Earthon, SK Energy, Samsung Heavy Industry, Samsung Engineering, and Lotte Chemical, has now been joined by Shell and Hanwha, as well as Korea National Oil Corporation and Air Liquide Korea. Locations for the carbon capture hub in Korea and storage in Malaysia have already been identified.
