Securities Commission Malaysia Launches SRI Taxonomy
The Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) has released a taxonomy for sustainable and responsible investments to guide market participants on economic activities that qualify for such investments. The Principles-Based Sustainable and Responsible Investment Taxonomy (SRI Taxonomy) also aims to address concerns about mitigating and managing risk of greenwashing, said SC chairman Awang Adek Hussin. "The SRI Taxonomy adopts a principles-based approach to enhance the standardisation and comparability of sustainable investment assets,” he said.
