Securities Commission: Adoption Levels Of Corporate Governance And Sustainability Best Practices Among Public-Listed Companies Positive
According to the Corporate Governance Monitor 2022 report released by the Securities Commission on 1 December, Malaysian public-listed companies (PLCs) are progressively adopting practices recommended by the Malaysian Code on Corporate Governance (MCCG). For example, the report found that 58 per cent of PLCs have a dedicated sustainability committee or senior management role, and that there was a 11 per cent rise in the number of female board members, of which 80 per cent were in independent director roles.
