The Securities Commission (SC) and Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) are engaging with energy sector stakeholders as the companies prepare to meet the technical screening criteria under the on Asean Taxonomy on Sustainable Financing. The SC said in a statement that the results of these stakeholder consultations will be taken into consideration for the finalised version of the Asean Taxonomy for Sustainability Financing Version 2, which is set to take effect in early 2024. Version 2 was released on 27 March and consists of the complete foundation framework and technical screening criteria for the energy sector.
