Sarawak To Inject RM2.3 Million Into Forest Landscape Restoration Next Year
The Sarawak government has said it plans to spend an additional RM2.3 million under its 2023 Budget to continue its Forest Landscape Restoration (FLR) programme. The programme aims to restore Sarawak’s ecological integrity, improve the productivity and economic value of its degraded forest landscape and help the state meet its environmental sustainability goals. While presenting the State Budget at the Sarawak Legislative Assembly, premier Tan Sri Abang Tun Openg assured legislators that the programme had made good progress, with 14.45 million trees out of the 35 million promised during the 12th Malaysia Plan having been planted.
