Sarawak to explore cooperation opportunities with Brunei, Indonesia to develop sustainable aviation fuel from algae

Sarawak will explore cooperation with Brunei and Indonesia to develop sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) from algae. During his speech at the International Symposium of Digital Industry Transformation 2022, Sarawak’s premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Openg said that with the large algae population in the archipelago, Asia can become a producer of SAF. He announced that the Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) will set up a laboratory to conduct further research.
