Sabah Eyeing To Be Leader In Sustainable Palm Oil Production

Sabah, the Malaysian state on northern Borneo island, is taking efforts to become a global leader in sustainable palm oil production, said the state’s Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor during the 50th anniversary dinner of conservation organisation WWF Malaysia. Sabah will be the first state to work towards the implementation of two certifications – the Jurisdictional Certification of Sustainable Palm Oil (JCSPO) and the Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil (MSPO) certification. The two certifications will help it achieve the internationally recognised Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) standard, and will safeguard the resilience of Sabah’s palm oil sector, said the chief minister.
