Planet QEOS and China’s CMEC Propose US$ 2.12bil Privately Funded Solarplus Sustainable Agri Project in Sarawak
Planet QEOS, a Sarawak sustainable agriculture and energy company, and China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC) are planning a privately funded 1,000 megawatts (MW) Agrovoltaic complex in Baram, Sarawak. The RM10 billion initiative integrates solar energy with Sustainable Animal Feed Economics (SAFE), generating 1430 gigawatt hours (GWh) of energy and 170,000 megatonnes of carbon-neutral animal feed annually. CMEC and Planet QEOS will co-develop the project, aiming to create 1,200 new jobs. The project will contribute to a reduction of 640,000 megatonnes of CO2 equivalent per year.
