ONGC To Invest USD12bn In Carbon Capture And Energy Transition Projects
Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has unveiled a USD12bn investment plan in carbon capture and energy transition projects. The initiative aligns with ONGC's goal of achieving net zero emissions for its Scope 1 and Scope 2 operations by 2038. The company aims to increase its focus on renewable energy sources such as wind and solar to generate electricity. Additionally, ONGC has plans for green ammonia production, with a plant in Mangalore set to produce 1 million metric tons of green ammonia annually. ONGC has already made significant progress in reducing its CO2 emissions by more than 12% since 2016.
