New Sarawak Ministry to Drive Green Energy, Sustainable Development
Sarawak is embarking on a green energy agenda for sustainable development and to address climate change. Chief Minister Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg said the state government had set up the new Energy and Environmental Sustainability Ministry towards this end. "With this ministry, we hope to coordinate and give direction to the development of green, renewable energy and participate in the world issue of climate change. "This is a pertinent issue and we hope to contribute to the needs of the world and mitigate carbon emissions," he said at Sarawak Energy Bhd's (SEB) centenary town hall at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching on Monday (Feb 21).
