Malaysian oil and gas, services and equipment companies have been called on to participate in the energy transition as the government launched the National Energy Policy 2022-2040, which prioritises environmental sustainability. The new policy’s low-carbon aspiration sets the stage for industry players to inject more clean and renewable sources into the country’s primary energy mix, said Malaysia Petroleum Resources Corporation president and chief executive officer Mohd Yazid Ja’afar.
