NanoMalaysia, an agency under the Malaysian Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, has launched a pilot project for an electric vehicle (EV) charger that is powered by renewable energy technology using nano-enhanced solar panels. The 18-month project uses the company’s Renewable Energy Nanogrid (Renew) concept and is located at Temasya Petronas station on the Federal Highway in the Klang Valley. The Renew concept uses a fast charging 50kW EV charger, lithium ion batteries and solar photovoltaic panels featuring nano-coating that allows for greater efficiency in inclement weather.
