Mohamad Hasan Urges EU-Asean Collaboration to Tackle Challenges in Energy Transition

Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, Malaysia's foreign minister, urged Asean and the European Union (EU) to collaborate on clean energy challenges at the 3rd EU-Indo Pacific Ministerial Forum held in Brussels, Belgium. Emphasising a just transition, he called for industrialised nations to provide extensive support to developing nations in financing, incentives, technology, and infrastructure. Mohamad stressed the importance of the common but differentiated responsibilities principle in the Paris Agreement. He highlighted Malaysia's commitment to practical solutions for the energy trilemma, calling for progressive cooperation and collaboration. Mohamad also urged developed countries, including EU members, to do more for energy transition.
