Investors that take a stake in companies transitioning from “brown to green” could gain higher returns, said speakers at a recent conference organised by Amundi Asset Management in Kuala Lumpur. Businesses that are prepared to face these physical and transition risks tend to have higher revenues, efficiency and lower cost of financing, said Dave Sivaprasad, managing director and partner at Boston Consulting Group. Haizan Johari, managing director of Amundi Malaysia, said that in order to achieve net zero, there needs to be stronger international cooperation, rapid technological innovation, commitments from the financial and industrial sectors as well as social acceptance.
