The Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) called for industries to explore green investments to leverage diverse sources of capital. MITI said in a statement that Malaysia’s energy transition requires an estimated expenditure of up to RM1.3 trillion by 2050, of which up to RM280 billion is needed between 2023 and 2029. MITI minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz said that the ministry will also conduct short-term studies on systematically implementing the energy transition and green investment.
