Capital Markets Malaysia (CMM), an affiliate of the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC), has introduced a Simplified ESG Disclosure Guide (SEDG), making Malaysia the first country to offer small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) within global supply chains a standardized set of guidelines for ESG disclosures. The SEDG aims to streamline and simplify various global and local ESG frameworks to enhance ESG data and information availability for SMEs. Developed through consultations with different stakeholder groups, the SEDG contains 35 priority disclosures that align with local and global sustainability guidelines, helping SMEs respond to disclosure requests from stakeholders like customers, investors, banks, and regulators.
