Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) to expand sustainable aviation fuel use

Malaysia Aviation Group’s (MAG) chief sustainability officer Philip See announced that the group will be expanding the use of sustainable aviation fuel in both passenger and cargo flights fulfilled by their subsidiary groups within six months to a year. The new fuel technology is produced by the world’s largest SAF producer, Neste, which uses 100% renewable waste and residue-based raw materials like waste animal fat. On whether SAF would affect ticket prices, See said, “40,000 flights have used SAF all around the world, its feasibility as a cleaner, more viable fuel option is proven. At the moment, the price will not be affected and will go according to flight demand.”
