LoRa-supported IoT Enables Sustainable Farming In Malaysia
Malaysian company Sustainable Hrvest, a pioneer of smart farming, has deployed LoRa-enabled sensors and LoRaWAN-based gateways across its durian fruit farms in Malaysia, with the help of semiconductor, Internet of Thing (IoT) systems and cloud connectivity service provider Semtech. LoRa is a modulation technique for specific wireless spectrum, whereas LoRaWAN is an open protocol that enables IoT devices to use LoRa for communication. The LoRa-enabled sensors now give Malaysian farmers real-time data on the health of their farms throughout every step of the growth cycle, allowing them to remotely monitor their crops and improve their bottom lines.
