LCC2030C Reduces More than Three Million Tonnes of CO2 Equivalent - Nik Nazmi

Minister of natural resources and environmental sustainability Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad announced at the opening ceremony of the 2023 Low Carbon Cities Awards that the Low Carbon City 2030 Challenge (LCC2030C) programme has successfully reduced 3,030,397.07 tonnes of CO2 equivalent. The programme aims to guide local authorities to transform their cities into low carbon cities and to measure greenhouse gas emissions in major urban areas in five categories: energy, water, waste, transport, and green spaces. The initiative intends to create 200 low-carbon zones and 1,000 low-carbon partners among 155 local authorities nationwide by 2030, said Nik Nazmi.
