Japan’s NYK Joins GCMD to Accelerate Shipping’s Decarbonisation
The Global Centre for Maritime Decarbonisation (GCMD) and Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK) have entered into a five-year strategic partnership agreement. GCMD's objective is to help the shipping industry achieve greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction by establishing standards for future fuels, conducting real-world operational trials of low-carbon solutions, financing innovative projects, and promoting collaboration across sectors. This partnership enhances GCMD's capabilities to conduct pilots and trials of low-carbon solutions, providing specific pathways for decarbonizing the global shipping industry.
