Japanese Gov't Awards USD1.62bn To Japan-Australia Hydrogen Energy Supply JV
A Japanese-Australian venture producing hydrogen from brown coal said it had entered its commercial demonstration phase, with a commitment of JPY220bn (USD1.62bn) in funding from the Japanese government. Led by Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Hydrogen Energy Supply Chain project is a AUD500mn (USD336.40mn) coal-to-hydrogen project backed by Japan and Australia as a way to switch to cleaner energy and cut carbon emissions.
