HSBC to Allocate USD1bn in Funding to Support Climate.

HSBC, one of the world's largest banks, has pledged USD1bn in financing to support climate-tech startups globally. This funding will assist startups in various sectors, including electric vehicle (EV) charging, battery storage, sustainable food and agriculture, and carbon removal technologies. Additionally, HSBC will invest USD100mn in Breakthrough Energy Catalyst, a platform that supports firms using emerging technologies to transition to cleaner energy sources. This commitment aligns with HSBC's focus on sustainability and its dedication to supporting early-stage climate-tech companies. It also signals the bank's commitment to accelerating the development and deployment of climate-tech solutions in the global transition to a net-zero economy.
