The Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA) organised a three-day Green Skills and Green Job Fair from 25 to 27 April 2024 in Kuala Lumpur to cater to the increasing demand for skilled professionals in the green economy in Malaysia. With strategic frameworks like the Green Technology Master Plan 2017-2030 (GTMP) and the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR), the government expects to attract investments of up to RM1.3 trillion, boost the gross domestic product (GDP) to RM220 billion, and create over 300,000 job opportunities in the country by 2050. HR Minister Steven Sim said the event is the first collaborative effort between the industry and academia to strengthen the development of green skills and job opportunities.
