Hong Leong Asset Management Bhd has launched its Shariah-compliant environmental, social, and governance (ESG) fund. The company said in a statement that the fund aims to provide investors with medium to long-term capital growth by investing in a globally diversified Shariah-compliant portfolio of securities with focus on ESG criteria during the investment process. The fund will not only be distributed through Hong Leong AM offices and agency force nationwide but also through the company’s online portal - HL iSmart Invest. The statement added that this is the second ESG fund launched by Hong Leong AM within the past nine months, reflecting the company’s commitment towards sustainable investing.
