Government of Melaka launches Green Transport MasterPlan

Summary: Melaka’s government has launched a Green Transport Masterplan to encourage the widespread adoption of public transport. The Masterplan will kick off with a pilot project in the city’s heritage area which seeks to reduce reliance on private vehicles as well as ease traffic congestion through a network of bus services, scooters, and electric bicycles. Two applications have also been developed for visitors to use the new modes of transport. The project will be piloted for a month and extended if it is well-received.
