Government Aid To Boost Rural Development And Entrepreneurship

Last week, caretaker prime minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced that rural development remains a priority for the government, and that RM10.93 billion has been allocated for the Rural Development Ministry under the 2023 Budget. This amount is 4% higher than the previous year, and includes RM1.5 billion allocated to building and maintaining rural roads, which are expected to benefit 110,000 people, RM472 million to the Rural Electricity Supply (BELB) Programme and RM381 million for the Rural Water Supply Programme and alternative water supply projects.
