GHGSat Launches World’s First Satellite Into Orbit That Can Detect and Share CO2 Data
GHGSat has successfully launched the GHGSat C10, known as Vanguard, the first orbital sensor capable of pinpointing carbon dioxide emissions from individual industrial facilities. This new generation of space instruments will build on GHGSat's methane emissions monitoring experience to provide frequent, accurate, and high-resolution CO2 data from specific sites, transforming the way carbon dioxide emissions are monitored, reported, and traded. Vanguard, with its high spatial resolution, allows for precise attribution of emissions from targets like steel mills, power plants, and petrochemical complexes, offering independent, accurate, and globally standardized emissions monitoring.
