FCA Issues Anti-Greenwashing Guidance, Proposes Expansion of Sustainability Framework

The UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has issued guidance to support the industry in meeting the anti-greenwashing rule, which comes into effect on May 31. The rule aims to ensure that sustainable products and services are accurately described. The FCA is also proposing to extend the Sustainability Disclosure Requirements (SDR) and investment labels regime to portfolio managers. This includes product labels and naming and marketing requirements to help consumers understand what their money is being used for. The proposals aim to maintain the UK’s position at the forefront of sustainable investment.
