Experts Call For Malaysia To Review Renewable Energy Policies
Malaysian authorities are being urged to relook at its existing policies and regulatory framework on renewable energy. Experts from consulting firms Deloitte Malaysia and Ernst & Young, as well as renewable energy trader Asia Carbon XChange said that a more comprehensive renewable energy policy could incentivise investments to develop the sector. While solar adoption has been encouraged under the country’s renewable energy (RE) policy and its utilisation has increased, the experts pointed out that there are less developments in biomass and biogas, a lopsidedness that needs to be corrected.
