EU Commission Unveils EUR380 Million In Funding for Climate, Biodiversity & Clean Energy Projects
The European Commission has approved more than EUR380mn in funding for green projects in areas including nature and biodiversity, addressing climate change, and the clean energy transition. The new investments are being made under the LIFE Programme, the EU’s funding instrument for environment and climate action. The funding will support 168 projects across Europe, targeting key themes including nature and biodiversity, circular economy and quality of life, climate change mitigation and adaptation, and the clean energy transition. Investments will include EUR127mn for nature and biodiversity projects, EUR96mn clean energy transition projects, EUR86mn for environment and resource efficiency projects supporting the EU's Circular economy action plan, and around EUR67mn for climate action-focused projects, including climate adaptation and mitigation initiatives.
