EU And UK Will Spend EUR5mn To Retrofit Ships With Carbon Capture Technology
The Green Marine project, a EUR5mn joint initiative between 10 institutions from the EU and UK, has been launched to retrofit ships with carbon capture solutions. The project, led by the Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute, aims to develop and integrate decarbonisation tools and resources to enable the maritime industry to switch to carbon-neutral technologies. As emissions generated from nautical transport are on the rise, the project will generate safe pathways for ships in the EU and UK to implement carbon capture systems to become more environmentally friendly.
