EMGS Programme Contributed To Reduction In Energy Consumption, GHG Emissions: Nik Nazmi
The Energy Management Gold Standard (EMGS) has achieved a yearly reduction of 203 gigawatt-hours in electricity consumption and a decrease of 115 kilotons of carbon dioxide equivalent in greenhouse gas emissions. Minister of natural resources and environmental sustainability Nik Azmi Nik Ahmad said these reductions translate to cost savings of RM74 million. He said that 184 organisations nationwide have participated in EMGS certification so far.
