Bursa Malaysia Developing Platform for Assessing Carbon Emissions Impact
Bursa Malaysia, the Malaysian stock exchange operator, is developing a Centralised Sustainability Intelligence (CSI) Platform to help both public-listed companies (PLCs) and non-listed small and medium enterprises (SMEs) assess their carbon emissions impact and disclose standardized environmental, social, and governance (ESG) data. The platform will comply with local requirements and global standards, facilitating access to sustainable financing. It will also collaborate with the JC3 Greening Value Chain (GVC) Programme to help Malaysian companies, particularly SMEs, transition toward sustainability. Companies using the CSI Platform can benefit from the GVC program if eligible, while SMEs considering the GVC program can use the CSI Platform as a reporting tool. Bursa Malaysia aims to create new trade and business opportunities for platform users.
