BP Signs MoU With Indonesia’s Pertamina On Tangguh CCUS Collaboration
BP and Indonesia's state-owned Pertamina are exploring a collaboration in a carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) project at the Tangguh gas development. The project may involve Pertamina producing blue ammonia. Under a memorandum of understanding, Pertamina will study potential gas supply and carbon dioxide (CO2) injection at Tangguh for blue ammonia development in West Papua. The CCUS project at Tangguh has received approval from Indonesian authorities, and front-end engineering and design work is underway. Tangguh has been identified as a potential CCS hub, and Pertamina is considering using its feed gas and CCUS capabilities to produce blue ammonia.
