BluSmart, an Indian ride-sharing company, has become the first mobility firm in India to receive carbon credits for CO2 emission reductions achieved by its electric vehicle (EV) fleet from February 2020 to December 2021. The accreditation from Verra, a global non-profit corporation, acknowledges BluSmart's commitment to large-scale decarbonization in the mobility sector. The company, which operates a fleet of over 5,000 EVs in Delhi NCR and Bengaluru, completed over 300 million kilometers and served more than 9.5 million fully electric trips. BluSmart aims to contribute to environmental sustainability by promoting EV adoption in urban transportation.
