Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Minister Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad said Malaysia’s climate change bill, expected to be tabled in 2025, aims to enhance environmental sustainability and create new business opportunities, by enabling businesses to access markets that emphasise sustainability, such as the European Union. Speaking at the Selangor ASEAN Business Conference (SABC), the minister said the bill was being developed alongside the National Adaptation Plan and carbon market framework. The bill would emphasise pollution control, as well as contribute to disaster mitigation and help lessen negative impacts on the business sector.
